ORION is a Japanese brand owned by ORION Electric Co. Ltd with its seat in Fukui. The Company's history dates back to the year 1958 when Narimasa Otake established in Osaka a company initially specializing in the production of transistorised radio receivers. In 1971, due to intensive development of the company and expansion of the production line with new categories of products the seat of Orion Electric was relocated to Fukui where its second production facility was built. At that time the company already offered multi-band radio receivers, magnetophones and cassette recorders as well as car radios and in the 80's it started to produce PC computers and TV sets. Orion Electric, in the trade of utility electronics, is regarded a pioneer in the field of LCD TV technology development and production – its first models with ORION label went on sales, also in the Polish market, as soon as in the middle of the 90's.

The offer of ORION LCD & LED TV sets includes several models with screen diameters of 19'', 22'', 26'', 32'' and 42'' with panoramic 16:9 screen proportions.
It is indeed one of the major dilemmas for a Client choosing a new TV set.
There are many ways to define an optimum screen diameter including quite a common rule saying that, for the majority of people, the optimum distance from the screen should be two times bigger than the screen diameter. If you have a 42-inch screen (almost 107cm in diameter) the optimum distance should be about 2.2m. The most important determiner of the screen size to be taken into consideration should always be Your personal preferences as well as the comfort of watching television. Remember though, panoramic 16:9 screens usually seem smaller than traditional 4:3 ones and that is why it is always better to choose an LCD screen that is bigger than Your previous kinescope one.
It is a common name of LCD TVs using diode backlight technology. There are different types of LED TVs which differ mainly in the number of LEDs used and theirs deploying. The main benefits of LED backlighting technology is a thinner casings, more saturated blacks and better contrast performance than standard LCD screens.
Tak. Yes, it does. Currently there are four basic LED models available in ORION’s sales offer: 19-inch HD Ready TV and 22-, 26- and 32-inch TV sets with Full HD panel. For detailed information click here
HD TV, an abbreviation from High Definition Television, means high resolution television. It is a general expression for a television signal broadcast digitally with a resolution of up to 1920x1080 pixels – that is 5 times as much as in the case of the analogue signal. Due to this technology we can receive extremely accurate and clear picture. Together with digital, 6-chanel sound we obtain a so called cinema effect that simply cannot be compared with the possibilities offered by analogue television. Thanks to HD TV we are also able to guarantee higher reliability and resistance to picture and sound emission interference.
Full HD 1080p (also known as Full HD TV) – is an extended standard where the value of 1080 pixels refers to the vertical screen resolution. A TV set meeting that standard displays digital picture of full HD resolution of 1920x1080 pixels. The general rules says that if You wish to purchase a TV set smaller than 42-inches You will not practically be able to notice any difference between Full HD TV and the resolution of an HD Ready screen of 1366x768 pixels. It is worth considering as HD Ready screens are usually cheaper which allows for some money savings.
ORION offers various models of TV sets equipped in both HD Ready and Full HD 1080p screens. All necessary information concerning technical specification of particular models is available at http://www.orion-poland.pl/en/televisions/

ALL TV sets by ORION, beginning from the fourth quarter of 2009, are fully adjusted to all requirements concerning the reception of terrestrial digital video broadcast – they are equipped with a DVB-T digital television tuner supporting MPEG-4 coded video signal in Poland. By 2015 analogue broadcast that we use these days will have been withdrawn. Already today there are tests of digital broadcast that is to replace the analogue one. The main advantages of the digital video broadcast are its high resistance to interference, higher quality of picture and sound as well as a possibility of transferring additional information like alternative sound tracks, subtitles in various languages, surround sound or so called EPG – Electronic Program Guides.
The DVB-T standard defines the way of broadcasting digital video with the use of a ground-based infrastructure. The most important information, from the Client's point of view, is the codec applied for sending data. In Poland it is going to be the MPEG-4 coding system. As a result all receivers equipped with analogue DVB-T tuners with MPEG-2 codec will not receive the digital signal without additional devices. The DVB-T MPEG-4 tuner, that all currently produced ORION TV sets are equipped with, guarantees that the TV set will fully be compatible with the new broadcast standard without the necessity of buying any additional device.
Yes, they do. All currently produced ORION TV sets are equipped with DVB-T MPEG-4 digital tuner enabling the reception of terrestrial digital video broadcast as standard.
It is a factor defining the difference between the darkest and the lightest point of the displayed picture.
ORION TV sets are equipped with all standard inputs and connections indispensable for compatible functioning of modern Audio-Video (AV) devices, including, among other things, the following:
HDMI – it ensures transmission of uncompressed digital picture and sound transferring data without any distortion or loss in quality.
PC Input – it enables connecting the TV with a PC computer.
SCART/ EUROSCART – it is a common connection appearing in most TV sets available in the market. It enables transmission of three kinds of analogue signals of low frequency. It is mainly applied to connect a VCR, DVD players or satellite sets.
Component Video – it is divided into two or more components. Analogue video signal is transmitted via independent wires in order to lower external interference. It enables transmission of high resolution HD TV signal.
S-VIDEO – it is a video transmission standard enabling better quality. The S-Video input only transfers video signal and sound is transferred via separate wires.
An HDMI input (High Definition Multimedia Interface) is an important element of a TV set's equipment. It ensures transmission of uncompressed digital picture and sound transferring data without any distortion or loss in quality. An HDMI input enables connection of digital Audio-Video (AV) devices to the TV set including Blu-ray/ DVD players, game consoles or digital TV decoder.
Small 19- and 22-inch TV sets have one HDMI input. Models with 26-, 32- and 42-inch screens are equipped with 2 or even 3 HDMI inputs.
Yes, they can be used as computer screens using their HDMI digital connections of analogue D-SUB connections.
