ORION HISTORY

March of 1958 – Company establishment in Kobe;
- Enterprenuer Narimasa Otake - founder.
- Production and export of transistor radios.

December 1958 – Inception of Orion Electric Cooperative (Osaka). Pocket radio – great success on American market.

1971 – Company relocates to Fukui. 
- Plants expansion (huge demand for products).
- Establishment of satellite plant in Fukui.
- Headquarters relocation from Osaka to Fukui.



The 1970s products.
- First product – six transistor single-band radio.
- Multiband radios.
- The 1960s. – Pilot production of reel recorders.
- Production development of cassette recorders.
- Production development of audio receivers. 



Second half of the 1970s. – TV Sets production.
- Cassette recorders with radio and monochromatic TV.
- Fundamentals and development of television production technology.



The 1980s. - PC and VCR development and production.

Second half of the 1990s. - LCD TV Sets production.

1986 – Orion plant opening in Great Britain.
- The 1970s. – Orion begins production in South Korea and Taiwan.
- The 1980s. – Trade between Europe, USA and Japan: opening Orion Electric UK plant in Wales.

1986 – Orion brand establishment in USA.
- Large TV Sets production.
- Orion America opening in Princeton.

1988 – Orion plant establishment in Thailand.
- World Electric Thailand - third largest exporter in Thailand.
- Thailand, second only to China, biggest manufacturer.

1995 – Establishment of a second Orion plant in Korat Denki, Thailand, due to growing product demand.

2001 – Establishment of a third Orion plant in Thailand.

2006 – Establishment of an Orion Plant in Łysomice near Toruń, Poland.



2009 - FG Poland – Exclusive Distributor of ORION Brand in Poland.
